A cause
worth building for.
The Red Bench Project was founded in 2023 by Wayne "Rambo" Groves in South Tyneside, in memory of his friend Mick Beattie. The idea is simple: place painted red benches at suicide hotspots, each carrying the Samaritans number and a QR code to immediate help.
What started as one bench on the South Shields seafront has grown into a movement. Red Benches now sit on promenades, in parks, at outdoor education centres — and on the harbour arm in Margate, hand-built by us at Mancs Stuff Ltd.
As the charity's Official Design Partner & Sponsor, we provide design studio capability — branding, print, the interactive bench map, school programme materials, partnership content — at cost or pro bono. We bring the craft. They bring the cause. Together we're helping more red benches reach more places that need them.
